Are you missing out on benefits that might be available to you? Billions of dollars in government benefits go unused each year. On this Veteran’s Day, we’re bringing you back to a Veteran’s Day episode we aired a few years ago with Ellie Kay. There’s tons of benefits and programs available to our veterans and she shares about a few of them.
This show originally aired in 2019 so ignore any mention of current events. Check out the original show notes here.

Ellie Kay has a lot of good info but I will say she comes from a very different perspective being a pilot’s wife$$$. I have been an enlisted spouse for 14+ years. Out of those 14 years I did not work 9 of them. We have 2 kids and on mostly 1 income saved over 100k by the ages of 25 and 28. You can totally survive on one income! I think saying it can’t be done is really misleading and financial suicide for our community. That gives families an excuse to say we can’t get a head it’s BS!!! It can be done on one income we did it and still do it. I have been employed for 14 months now and save every penny of my paycheck and still max out my husband’s tsp and IRA on top of my savings!!! I’ve tracked our net worth for years check out payingyourselffirst@wordpress.com
