Is it Monday already? We have a great show today. Deacon Hayes from the Well Kept Wallet podcast and blog joins Paula Pant on the shortwave to tackle travel. What are some creative ways to afford to travel more? We talk about hostels, AirB&B, online deals, traveling in groups, and more.
Plus, OG & Joe review headlines, including one about more craziness at a bitcoin exchange, a man caught stealing “a few” quarters in New Jersey, and the SEC deciding to look into ETFs. What do you need to know? We’ll give you the skinny on the show.
Want more? Doug has trivia, OG reviews a rental flick (Thor 2), and much, much more.

Joe, my family travels quite a bit using our timeshares, hotel points, and airline miles. It’s amazing! We’re able to do travel that we had only dreamed of before.
Actually, my wife and I are about to do a 9 day trip flying Business Class from LAX to Australia using airline miles, 2 nights in our timeshare, 4 nights in hotels using points, and 1 hotel night paying about $100 cash. Total trip cost for flight and room is about $1500 due to taxes, fuel surcharges, etc. and needing to buy points to top off balances to book the trip. I’ll have a post detailing it when we get back.
