Ah the memories of school lunches. I used to take pb&j a lot. When I got the occasional upgrade to Lunchables I felt like I was special. 🙂
I wish I had someone to pack a lunch for me now lol.
Edward - Entry Level Dilemma
Growing up, we were poor enough to qualify for free lunch. So I had whatever barely edible food was being served that day.

I don’t know about the quality of lunches served at school but I’d rather have my kids eat a hot lunch for $2.75 than PB&J every school day, then at night they can have a salad or something light if they had meat at school. My mum used to give me the lunch money and to save I wouldn’t go to school lunch but have a bag of chips and a coke which was lethal for my health then eat for two at dinner and keep the change. You say sliced ham and cheese is more expensive than buying a whole ham and slicing it but again it depends on your ability to make really thin slices, if you use a normal knife the slices will be twice as big, again, healthier but more expensive.

My mom used to pack me off with lunch most of the times. She used to give me few dollars monthly which I used to spend wisely and save it also
