How do you get to the top of your game? How far would you go to keep your business and personal social groups aligned with your goals? We’ll quiz our roundtable, plus get their thoughts on the number one goal they’re trying to attain currently. Our contributors this week are Sandy Smith from YesIAmCheap.com; Paula Pant from the Afford Anything podcast; and Len Penzo from the LenPenzo.com blog.
After we finish talking goals and dreams with our roundtable we’ll pivot to our interview with Brian Hamilton, the co-founder and CEO of the new digital bank One. There’s been a lot of great improvements in the digital banking industry, but Brian found a problem: it was hard to find a good bank that offered all the features someone would want. His solution? Make one. During our fintech segment, we’ll dive into the making of One with Brian and talk about good business values, vision, and the digital banking landscape.
During today’s MagnifyMoney call we’ll tackle a question on credit card rewards. Alan tells us him and his wife have been playing the rewards game and got up to $10,000 in 2020. He says it seems like a great side hustle and ask for our thoughts.
As always, we’ll give Doug some airtime halfway through the show to have this week’s trivia game show. If you happen to be knowledgeable on the annual revenues of Wisconsin-based shower head companies, this one is for you.

Hey guys,
Plenty of money to be made with the bank bonus side hustle that you mentioned on your recent episode. I just started my hustle in January, and I’m at about $6,000 YTD. I should hit ~$10,000 by year’s end, which is fairly easy to do if you’ve got a “P2” on board like Alan, but harder to do if your wife/partner refuses to participate, and thinks you’re sleazy for opening all of those bank accounts. Our “all expenses paid” trip to Greece this summer might change her mind though; credit card hacking for flights + bank bonuses for cash = a pretty legit free trip. But to be honest so far I’ve put 100% of my bank bonuses into crypto! I figure speculation is the best outcome for money from venture capitalists and Wells Fargo.
Here’s a list of all my bank bonuses so far this year:
January
$700 Citibank
$200 Discover
$245 SoFi
February
$100 Stash
April
$50 Abra
$40 Nearside
May
$325 Monifi
$100 Marcus
$90 Acorns
$35 CIT Bank
$164 Tornado
June
$100 Fidelity
$45 WeBull
$500 Yield Street
$300 Wells Fargo
$150 Axos Brokerage 06
$250 PSECU
July
$165 Nadex
$305 KeyPoint CU
August
$320 Laurel Road
$500 Upgrade
$300 First Tech FCU 08
$300 Provident CU
Pending
$500 Chase Business
$300 U.S. Bank Business
$250 Bank of the West

Wow Matty! That is awesome! Lots of work to open all those accounts like you mentioned but looks like it’s paying off with that Greece trip.
