Our good friend Jake Wade joins us in the basement to discuss the hilarious (and horrifying) way he blew through a TON of money during his lifetime.
We also have finished our contest! Find out the identity of our winner (and how much goodness we’ve stuffed into the prize pack for winning).

This was, as usual, an informative and entertaining show.
Just wanted to mention that Ree over at EscapingDodge.com recently wrote an article that might help everybody else figure out how much they’ve blown (called “Where has all the Money Gone?” or similar). She suggests you look at your Social Security earnings history, which I thought was a great idea. Of course, the numbers might be a bit off if you’ve ever done cash jobs, inflated your expenses as a business owner, or forgotten to report some tips when you were waiting tables… but it gets most people a pretty good idea of their earnings history.
Thanks again (and Thanks Jake) and I’ll look forward to the next episode.

I Just listened to the podcast and it is great! I can relate to Jake because I was born a spender myself. Thanks so much for mentioning my post, I think it’s a nice compliment to the podcast, too. But you’re right, relying on your SSA Statement doesn’t capture all the money that has flowed through your fingers but it provides a good idea for those of us who didn’t track the “extra” cash we received along the way.
While Jake’s figure is pretty big considering how young he is, I’ve blown through more than triple that amount and still managed to grow wealth. Of course, there’s a paid for house factored in there somewhere!
Cheers,
Ree
