Hey, friends!
I feel horrible about not having podcasts Wednesday or today, but that was truly out of my control. I wanted (hoped, actually) to get away with being gone to Italy and have nobody notice (I’ve found in the past that when I tell everyone I’m leaving my traffic drops considerably….) so I prefer to announce what I did once I return.
In this case it nearly worked.
I was in Italy for 11 days and including travel time was gone for a total of 13 days. The podcasts were all pre-recorded. I had some awesome friends cover the blogging duties. Everything was set.
BUT I forgot that I had nothing ready for when I return. Then my editor got sick….and OG was unable to record….and so no podcast.
So….let’s make it up to you. How about a free drink on me? I’m giving away a $10 Starbucks gift card to two readers. Don’t like coffee? Find something else fun there to eat or buy yourself a mug (or maybe give one as a gift…it’s your $10!).

Oh, and Italy? Here’s a pic from our awesome trip:

Great picture and I’m sure it was an amazing trip! I haven’t done too much traveling but my wife and I went to Sanibel Island in Florida this spring which was amazing. Have a great weekend Joe!

Thanks!
I’ve never gone to Sanibel Island, but I heard it’s beautiful (and a relaxing place). We always talk a good game about relaxing vacations but never seem to go….

Most awesome vacation ever you ask? The one I have coming up, or the one I took a year ago, both cruises 😀
Joe Saul-Sehy
I’ve read many cruise line annual reports and the problem they have isn’t in getting people to return (everyone who goes loves them). It’s convincing people who’ve never been to actually try it. They all say the hook is to get people on the boat that first time.

Don’t know how I wasn’t subscribed before, but I am now a stacker subscriber!

Glad you had a great time on vacation! My Wednesday and Friday mornings weren’t the same this week, looking forward to your return next week.
How did PK mange for 13 days without you?! Did your mom take over your feeding responsibilities?
My best vacation thus far was Italy, I attempted to post a picture of the Spanish Steps, but I think it’s too large – it’s a blessing and a curse to be married to an avid photographer. If any of the listeners/reader haven’t been to the Spanish Steps put it on the bucket list. It’s a amazing spot to have a frugal picnic and people watch.

Great night pic! When we were there during the day there was a dude dressed as a gladiator on the steps. We used the Rick Steves guidebook and took a night walking tour that ended at the steps. You’re right on: what a perfect spot to people watch.
….as for PK, that guy is so engrossed in his engineering and quantum physics books he never knew we left. #nerd

I’m jealous you went to Europe for that long!! I think the best trip I’ve ever taken was when I went on an REI group tour to New Zealand in 2001. It was right after 9/11 and a pretty depressing time, and NZ felt like an entirely different world. The group I was with turned out to be so much fun and amazing, and we did some really cool adventures. I was there for two weeks. I was so depressed when I got home…I guess that’s the one downside to having an amazing time. 🙂

Way to get away and disconnect! That’s hard to do these days – esp with the internets… And I believe you that you were away ‘cuz you took a while to respond to my email, haha…
Also, if I win the $10 here I’m tithing it cuz I’ve been sucking lately with charity… so let’s see if that wins any brownie points 🙂

That’s a great photo — you all look so happy.
Our best vacation was our honeymoon in Ireland. We rented a little hatchback and drove around the whole island for two weeks, picking up memories and pints along the way. By far the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.

I’ve had many amazing vacations. We love to travel! I guess I’d chose our trip to China last fall as my most amazing. I’ve wanted to go since I was a child and use to stand on the beach wishing I could see across to China 🙂 Finally made it and had a husband and a grandson with me, that’s amazing!

Awesome you got to spend 11 days in Italy! I’ve spend 1 day there (in Milan) and have been dying to go back ever since!
My best vacation ever was definitely with my wife a few years ago to the US (from Australia) – New York, Orlando, Vegas, Sedona… we’re huge fans of the US, and this was almost a month of just pure fun! We expect our next ‘best trip ever’ will be bringing our daughter to Disneyworld for the first time, combined with a road trip across the states!

I want to win a java fix! Help! Hehe….I signed up for the newsletter and am leaving a comment (of course). My favorite vacation had to be Brazil in 2009, or Iceland in 2013. Totally different, both equally amazing and fun.

Awww, super cute pic!!! Italy sounds amazing – hope you’ll share more from the trip!
